Skincare products

As a college student with sensitive, eczema-prone skin, I never thought affordable products could actually work for me. Money is tight during the school year, and my skin reacts easily to harsh or heavily fragranced products. Things got even harder when I started college, because the water was different and my skin freaked out.

Instead of chasing every expensive trend, I decided to focus on affordable options that actually worked. I started paying attention to ingredients instead of price tags and learned that consistency mattered more than hype.

That’s when Good Molecules came into the picture. For the past two summers, I’ve been receiving PR packages from them because I keep my business email in my Instagram bio and share beauty content. Every time I open a package, it feels intentional, as if they’ve truly considered women with melanin-rich skin and their unique needs.

One product that completely changed the game for me is their Overnight Exfoliating Treatment. The first time I used it, I woke up with glowing skin, and the best part? I once grabbed it on sale for just 60 cents. Proof that you don’t need to spend hundreds to see results.

Slowly, my skin began to thank me. Not because I was buying luxury products, but because I was listening to what it really needed and sticking with what worked.

This blog is my way of sharing that journey. I want other Black men and women to know that skincare doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Here, you’ll find:

  • Honest reviews of affordable products that actually work
  • Tips for dealing with common concerns like hyperpigmentation, clogged pores, and dryness
  • Expert insights from estheticians at SkinStudio211 in Kalamazoo
  • And personal stories that prove clear, healthy skin is possible on any budget

So stay tuned for upcoming series like “Melanin Myth Monday,” where I’ll break down myths about Black skincare, and “Glow on a Budget,” where I’ll share my favorite affordable finds.

Because at the end of the day, skincare isn’t about how much you spend, it’s about finding what truly works for you.
